As the US border guy admitted while we were getting the "random special check" recently, the rules change all the time, sometimes even faster than the web sites.
My answer was that I would just keep on bringing the food I had, tell them what I have, and let them grab whatever their rules of the day say is verboten.
He agreed that was a valid plan.
