We've been crossing back and forth each winter for 10+ years, we just pack what's in the home fridge and on the return we bring back what's in the RV fridge. Only stuff that we've had taken was dog food, no concerns about human food.
Since it costs us $2 a bag for garbage back home it's actually more cost effective to have the border folks take the stuff off our hands! Don't sweat it, not a big deal.
