You can't spend five months out of country then five more in some province other than you own. You can't nip back home for a day then hit the road for another five months either.
Well, you can, and many do, but you have to be comfortable with paying cash for any health services you need. If not, health care insurance for Canadian citizens who are not covered under the health care act because of the time limits, immigrants with residency status in the first 90 days of their arrival in Canada and people on work visas in Canada are not expensive and roughly the same for policies covering Europe. To be clear, we are not talking about travel insurance or supplemental insurance.
