I didn't have to become an Eagle Scout to know not to do that. I've got 3 nephews whose mother (yes, my brother's wife)forced them through that program and they won't lift a finger to do anything to better the life of their grandma - my Mom. Heck, they never had to lift a finger around their own house - we know who is to blame for that - the parents.

Now one nephew is starting his adult life with a child out of wedlock and is shacking up with another girlfriend. I guess my Sis-in-law thought the Boy Scouts could raise her kids and give them some principles to save her the trouble.

My point is, belonging to an organization like this is not a substitute for responsible child rearing.
