When I was a boy scout we were always taught to leave an area cleaner than how we found it. We took care of the lands we used. We also never went to city, county, state or national parks for the most part. Always out in the wilderness on our own and always back packed in. Now a days I see troops camping in public campgrounds often making a mess of the place. Tried to fish on a small stream a while back and over a dozen scouts came splashing through, tossing rocks into the area we were fishing totally oblivious to the disturbance they were causing to others. Are the scout troops with solid leaders a thing of the past?
