As for the $1 entrance fee, I doubt it's due to security, etc. More a way to lessen the number of non-serious buyers clogging up the place.
I don't mind buying from the vendors. My problem is paying to get into buying from them.
In Lancaster County, PA there is a HUGE market place, hundreds of vendors. 365 days a year. 20+ years have never paid an admission fee - they don't charge one.
In Pennsylvania and NJ we have "Marts". Same type of vendors, stalls, etc., as Arizona Market Place - no admission fees.
So not agreeing with a business is not the issue. There are some I don't shop at because I don't agree with how they're selling or what they are selling. I just don't go there.
