Branson Campgrounds

We are going to Branson the week of Labor Day. We have stayed at several Branson area campgrounds in the past. Lately we have been going to Stagecoach RV park and while they are a nice campground and pet friendly (important) there is very little shade. I want to hear from those of you that have actually stayed in the campground you are recommending. Important points to consider, must be pet friendly, we have a 32ft. 5th wheel, shady. I know some of the parks down there look pretty tight to get around in. So what say you?

  • Just a point of information. We tried to make reservations at Tablerock state park campground #2 and it was booked solid even in the middle of the week. So be sure and call ahead of time to make your reservations.
  • We stayed at Shenanigans. It is close to the strip and everything you might want to see, but it is also on the yellow and red routes so you can avoid everything if need be. Shenanigans is not for the faint of heart (look at the reviews on rvparkreviews) or those requiring the wide open spaces, but the hosts are great people and as I said, it's close to everything.

We checked out Lakeside while we were in the area and would probably stay there next time. As opposed to Shenanigans, it's level and with decent space between sites. Within walking distance of old downtown Branson and the scenic rail line, you are away from honky-tonk Branson.

We drove through Table Rock and it's very nice, but a fair distance from Branson proper.
  • Did you look at Tablerock State Park, Campground #2. about 25 full hook up sites. We have stayed there many times. Our favirite is Site 226.
  • Another vote for Branson Ozark Country. We have stayed there several times and that is where we would go back in Branson. Some good sites at the back--pull through and in the shade and a large grassy area out in front--and trails in the back--for the dog. Ours is an 85 pound lab mix.
  • check out Cooper Creek on the shore of Lake Taneycomo great trout fishing and just a mile and a half off 76 Country Blvd.
  • Spent a week in the KOA and had a large site with trees that provided shade. The employees were very nice to the campers, had a shuttle bus that would take you into some of the venues and overall would return to them should we go back. Also spent a week at ABC (America's Best) Campground. It was well kept and as nice as it was it is a distance from most activites. I don't know how the rates compare but if close, KOA would be my choice.
  • Branson Lakeside. Fewer frills, pet friendly, walking distance to Branson landing. Stayed there 2 (3?) times so far. ST
  • Ozark Country...I have stayed there and at this time, I'm scheduled to be there the month of September. Lots of shaded sites on the perimeter, very friendly owners on site and pretty close or at least close enough to the strip. I'm booked in for Sept but were we are also booked at Fort Wilderness....I'm leaning toward's Florida but who know's.
