- PadlinExplorerFrom the Border Patrol site:
"Declare all drugs, medicinals, and similar products to the appropriate CBP official;
Carry such substances in their original containers;
Carry only the quantity of such substances that a person with that condition (e.g., chronic pain) would normally carry for his/her personal use; and
Carry a prescription or written statement from your physician that the substances are being used under a doctor's supervision and that they are necessary for your physical well being while traveling." - RozbudExplorerWe crossed at Progresso last week and the lady in front of me had meds. The agent told her that she appeared to have more than a 30 day supply, which is the limit, but he let her through with the caution that she should just remember that info for the next time she got more.
I don't know how he figured that she was in excess of a 30 day supply unless she told him. I didn't know about the 30 day thing either, which is of course, no excuse if it's true. I have never had a problem and they usually don't even look in the bags. - SuzzeeeQ2012Explorer

yes. Ironically, the greater danger is taking antibiotics when you shouldn't be.

Sorry, didn't have my PC hat on today.
Or do you really man that white people do not commit any crimes? I am wondering why you even used "white" in your post?
I'm making a reasonable assumption that 99.99% of the readers on this forum are white and old. - moishehExplorerAlthough many border pharmacies will sell antibiotics without a prescription that is illegal in Mexico. The law changed recently.
Moisheh - moishehExplorer2oldman: You posted:"I don't know what detaining old white people for bringing meds across does to protect our borders, but them's the rules."
Are you assuming that only white people cross the border? Or are you saying that only white people RV? Or are you saying that it is OK to detain Black or Brown people? Or do you really man that white people do not commit any crimes? I am wondering why you even used "white" in your post? It should have just read "old people".

The officers are there to protect our border, not audition comedians.
Remove the officers then. See how that works.
I have crossed dozens of times in the last twenty years and this old white guy has never been "detained". - bigorangeExplorer"Only my medical marijuana" might get an interesting reaction. :B
Pharmacist in southern AZ, so I get this question a lot. Anything except controlled substances is technically legal. I know several folks who used to routinely go across for antifungals for their pets for valley fever..saved thousands of dollars a year. - 2oldmanExplorer III couldn't care less if old people sell narcs.
- AridonExplorerWell depends on what you're bringing. I don't think anyone cares about your gallon sized bottle of prednisone where as if you come with the same bottle of Oxy it might be a different situation. The only way to know is to ask / check.
If you think old people can't sell narcs then enjoy your reality.
