It's a pretty decent campground with some nicely space sites but no electric or dumping at all. Though at 6,000 feet it sits right at the edge of the desert so it can become a bit warm mid day. And even though it is in the pines not all spaces are shaded. It a really nice campground with good hiking. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. The Pacific Crest Trail goes right by Burnt Rancheria.
That whole Mount Laguna area along Sunrise Highway is a nice drive through pines. The Forest Service has struggled in recent years to prevent it from being burned out with all the wildfires in the region. Those fires keep licking at the edges of that mountain area.
They have showers so bring some quarters. And there are both vault and flush toilets, too. As with all campgrounds these days they don't want campers bringing in their own possibly infested wood and have wood for sale at the campground host site.
About a mile up the road is a small store with some minimal supplies. Down in Pine Valley 10 miles away off I-8 there is a much better supplied actual mountain grocery store. And 5 miles east of Pine Valley is the Buckman Springs Rest area which is a good place to dump your tanks if necessary. That rest stop is between the east and west bound Interstate 8 lanes. And heading back west on I-8 then routes you through a Border Patrol check point.
