CA Redwoods ideas

Looking for info on where the best place to stay in the big trees. We boondock in a class B so there is no need for hook-ups but we would use them if needed. Any info at all would be appreciated. Thank-you.

  • With a class b, you can stay in the older, great State parks in the redwoods. Albee Creek (Humboldt Redwoods SP), Prairie Creek Redwoods SP, Jed Smith SP. Ancient Redwoods is fine if you need the hookups but staying in the trees is well worth it. Prairie Creek and Albee Creek are my favorites.
  • We stayed in Big Basin Redwoods State park last year, the oldest state park in California. The last time I had camped there was 60 years ago, at age 3 my sister tells me. Truly Awesome.
  • Patricks Point SP. Between Crescent City and Eureka. Stayed there years ago. A beautiful SP and central to the Redwoods.
  • Ahh...nice area to go into.

May I recommend Jedediah Smith SP if your going to be down this way.
I think you might like should be plenty of room for the class B.
    Here's a link for info.

Wherever you end up have a great visit!
  • We stayed at the Ancient Redwoods RV Park on the Avenue of the Giants. Great park on the north end. Reasonably priced too. There are several places you can boondock with a Class B but I'm not sure if it is legal or what permissions you'd need as we don't boondock ourselves...but check out the above CG....Dennis
