X2 on what F-troup said, it's a good road, we use it all the time to bypass the 210. If you are going to go over to the 14 be sure to look for the sign that says Pearblossom Hwy to turn left. Otherwise you go through downtown Palmdale

Not bad at all, few curves just off the 15 then flat desert.
