Traveling from Charlotte, NC area on I-85 south on May 26 (Memorial day) to pick up I-20 west. Would appreciate any recommendations on campgrounds just north of Atlanta off I-85. 38...

I would think that you are right,most weekend campers will be going home Monday night...traffic will be heavy but..campgrounds...empty..
From Charlotte , you should be pass Atlanta for a campground...and going out 0n I-20 from Atlanta , there are quite a few c/g's to stay in....Chuck
