The current Rim fire just east of me was most likely caused by a campfire on the lower Clavey River. The cause is under investigation, but we had no lighting in the area. Probably a campfire left by rafters.
Even though there is a prohibition on campfires there are always those who think they know better and can safely have a fire. This can be the result.
My wife loves to have a campfire, but I think they are more trouble than they are worth. Here in California in the summer there are always campfire restrictions and there are always camper caused fires.
