Well, guys, there is a reason folks like to build a fire -- it's fun, it looks good, and it smells like camping! It's a conditioned response, just the way the smell of burning leaves used to mean football season. (Most places no longer allow the burning of leaves -- I bet there are people under 40 who would not recognize that distinctive aroma.)
But because I am concerned about wildfires when I camp, I have to get my "fire fix" at home, with my fireplace in the winter (which lasts less than two weeks) and my patio fire pit (most of the rest of the year).
