I am looking for suggestions for some nice locations anywhere east of the Mississippi that have a campground and a marina together on freshwater lakes or rivers.I have a 16 foot fishing boat and ideally would like to find a place where I could put the boat in a slip at the marina for a week or so and then walk down from the RV to use the boat each day. Even better would be a marina that would launch and retrieve the boat for me. I can (and have) launched with the RV where there is enough room at the launch but its not a lot of fun... Any recommendations?Thanks!

I take it that a view in the morning like this is a wee bit too commercial.Yes, that is a travelift going by. Had to run outside to make sure they were not about to launch me.

TVA....TVA....TVAMost all the TVA lakes in Tennessee have marinas and campgrounds. The lakes are South Holston, Boone, Cherokee, Watauga, Norris and Douglas. You can google them and find lots of campgrounds. Most of these are right off of I-81 or where I-81 and I-40 run together outside of Knoxville, TN.

Man that looks like Tilghman Island or an equivalent. Where is that antique Travelift.

lakeside campground and marina , aurora, KY, had a site backed up to within about 5 ft of water. pulled boat on bank. also on Lake Gaston, VA/NC

Blythe Island Regional CG. Nice campground right off I-95 Brunswick Georgia .They will launch your boat with a lift,also have a ramp.

if that was the one I stayed at, the camp sites were located in the woods, nothing on the water. a nice campground however.

Hammer21661, no it does not get much more Eastern Shore than Tilghman Island & it does not get much more of a watermans boatyard than Severn Marine, our favourite CG/overhaul yard. No picnic table, no fire ring, no shade, sometimes not much room but where else can you wash & wax to your hearts content, run power tools, have access to a workshop, get woken up at 4:30AM every day as the watermen go out, get more than enough useless advice & meet some of the most genuine people in the world?

Looking forward to being there for the annual refit in a month or so time.
