- kknowltonExplorer IIThe Woods RV Park, again. Decent for overnight. Don't expect any trees (seriously). :)
- welove2driveExplorerWe stayed at Rickwood Caverns for one night. They have a gate that closes in the evening. Call ahead if you plan on getting there after dark. You may need to get the code.
- jnharleyExplorerIf you want a nice space a little off the road, then Gunter Hill COE in Montgomery is very nice. The have full hook ups and big sites in one of the loops. It is pretty easy drive from/to I-65.

I-65 Exit 168
Passport America rate was $15 (iirc). No reservations needed. In fact, you won't get Passport rate if you make a reservation.
All spaces are pull through.
Easy walk to several fast food places.
Kangaroo across the street is easy to get in for gas.
We have stayed for an overnight here half a dozen times. US 331 is at the same exit and this location gives us a 3 hour drive on to Topsail the next day.
I agree...very convenient if all you want is a quick meal and a place to sleep. - ky-auctioneerExplorerThe Woods RV Park in Montgomery.

In Birmingham (Pelham is the surburb), try Oak Mountain State Park, it is very nice. In Montgomery, the new side in Gunter Hill is excellent. It is a Corps of Engineers park on the Alabama River. Both parks have full hook up.
- purplekeenahExplorerBirmingham South Campground, exit 242 in Pelham, easy off/on.
- dennis1949ExplorerTry Hoover RV park. Just south of Birmingham. All pull thrus just off of 459. At exit 10
- cwill925ExplorerCamping World at Calera AL. just south of Birmingham has several RV sites for overnighters. Right at the interstate.
From I-65 South, take Exit 231 onto US-31N. Turn left onto Co Rd. 22 and then right onto George Roy Parkway
From I-65 North, take Exit 234. Turn left onto Co Rd. 87 and then left onto George Roy Parkway. - midnightsadieExplorer IIcracker barrels are great.
