Campground Fees: 50 amp service $1 per day?

I'm looking at a fee schedule for a local private campground. It lists the daily and weekly rates for their different sites which all seem to include 20/30 amp electric then under ADDITIONAL FEES it says 50 amp service $1 per day.

Does the 20/30 amp electric mean that it's 50 amp but instead they charge that extra $1 if you have a 50 amp rig?

*This CG is about 10 miles from our house and I'm thinking of taking the Allegro Bus out there after I get it dewinterized for the first time so we can practice for our California trip next year. I really want a place that has 50 amp service so we can try everything out. Most of the state or county CGs near us are only 30 amp.

ETA: I have all the adapters that I think I need to go from 50 to 30 down to 110 as I have it plugged into the house here at home.
  • I have paid as high as $3 extra for a 50A site. Not all that common, but some do charge extra for 50A.
  • The way I understand your post is that the camp ground offers 20 amp service which is 110 actully. Then they offer a 30 amp service which is 110 actully. Then they offer a 50amp service which is 240. That's going to cost an extra buck a day. But its impossible for them to add there 20/30 amp together and get 50amps. That's the way I understand it at any rate hope that clears is up for you. Have fun with your shake down camp trip. If you want to go from 50 amp to 30 amp you need a pig tail that does that. You can pick them up at any RV or WalMart store. Unless the 110 pig tail you have separates and it a 30 amp as well just depends on what you have.
  • If you're plugging into the 50 amp outlet you pay the extra dollar. The 20 and 30 amp outlets have nothing to do with the 50 amp connection, and are included in the basic site fee. If you use your adapter and only connect to the 30 amp outlet, you can save the extra dollar.
  • Probably a site with 50 amp service.

I once had to pay the extra because I occupied a site with 50 amp service (last site available) even tho I only used 30 amp service. :M

BTW, this was the KOA at Merridian, MS. I've never darkened their driveway again. :)
