- TexasShadowExplorer IImaybe farther than you want, but 20 miles west of Sedalia is Knob Noster State Park, a very nice little campground.
Or, a bit east of Columbia is Kan DO campground near Montgomery City, MO. A private park, set up pretty nice, just off the highway. - CloudDriverExplorerWe did an overnight at Cottonwoods RV Park in Columbia 5-6 years back. Nice place.
- Two_JayhawksExplorerCottonwoods is great pull thru's long enough for my 44' coach plus toad. Or they have back in's if you prefer.
- PawPaw_n_GramExplorerThe Sedalia Missouri State Fairgrounds has a small section of their massive campground which is open year round. $25 for 30 amp/ water/ sewer big sites. While not designated as pull-thru sites, the occupancy has been low enough every time we’ve been there to pull thru and not unhook. Cash or check only.
Just don’t go there during the fair which is Aug 9-19 this year.
(Though open - there is no water at the sites in the winter) - garmpExplorer IINot really close by, but near Jefferson City, MO is Binder Park
We stayed as a night over on our way home and it was a great little park for $22.00 a night. Good breakfast restaurant nearby. Great cell and hot spot reception. It worked great for us. - Dick_BExplorerX3 on Cottonwoods. Tight spaces but that's where we always stay when we want to ride the Katy bike trail in that area.
- BipeflierExplorerCottonwoods is your only choice in or near Columbia.
Going west on I-70 the next campground will be near Kansas City. There is a truck stop at the 121 exit (Midway) which is about 7 miles from Columbia. - welove2driveExplorerWe stayed one night at Arrow Rock Historic Site campground just west of Columbia, MO. It is approx 10 miles north of I-70. Very nice quiet park. We snagged one of the last spots on a Friday night in August. We stayed in site 47, the most unlevel site in the park. The loop with sites 47,23-28 is on a slope. The rest of the park is pretty flat. We reserved site 40 for the trip home from CO. It is a bit of a drive off I-70 but worth it. We would stay again.
- TxGearheadExplorer II^^This x2.
- PhilipBExplorerX3 Cottonwoods.
If you want farther west, RV Express in Boonville. Never stayed there.
