I've stayed twice at Absaroka Bay RV Park on US 16 on the way SE out of Cody. FHUs, nice laundry facilities, large sites, well spaced, and at $29/night, a real bargain. Nice folks running the place. They're lifetime residents and they don't know why Absaroka is pronounced "Absorka", either.
I second the suggestion to spend more than one day. The Buffalo Bill Cody Museum is 5 museums in one building. At least a couple of days there. And there's a night rodeo in town every night in the summer.
Yep!! Best bang for the buck in Cody - with the possible exception of WalMart. There were nearly 30 RVs in the parking lot one night when we went to Wally World.
