- rangerbaitExplorerThanks for all of the feedback, and it's true: Flagstaff is definitely under represented in the quality RV parks department. Great area with tons to do, and within easy range of the South Rim.
We ended up staying at the KOA in town, in one of the premium sites with a patio at the back of the park right near the trailhead...plenty of room, and fairly level. - 2gypsies1Explorer IIIAs stated, Flagstaff is not known for good RV parks which is unfortunate as there's lots to do in that area. I'd recommend Munds Park or Bonito national forest campground by Sunset Crater but no hookups there. It's our favorite.
- mileshuffExplorerIn my opinion there are no decent RV parks in Flagstaff. They are simply OK, or lousy!
J&H is clean, level gravel and odd rules from the owners. We were told lights out at 9pm. We couldn't sit out with a dim light under our awning. Owner got upset at us having a bottle of wine outside saying thats not the image they want.
Black Barts is a dirt, rather dirty poorly maintained.
KOA is typical KOA. Some spots ok, many very tight, noisy, not the cleanest.
Greers is ok unless its crowded. People park along the roadways making it difficult to maneuver RV's. Decent but not my type of place.
Woody Mtn is decent. Dirt forested campground. Many spots are tight fits with the trees. Awnings difficult to extend. Spots are not always level. Owners are very nice and helpful in guiding you into your spot.
Munds Park is decent. Very clean nice park. However, it has numerous full time mobile homes and cabins. The only good RV spots are in the back area up against the forest away from the full time and cabins.
Fort Tuthill is a forest service campground. Most spots have no hookups. A few with water and electric. Dump station nearby.
After years of staying around Flagstaff we have since moved to staying 25 miles west on I-40 in Williams. We stay at Grand Canyon Railway RV resort. It is an upscale RV park, paved level sites, pull thru's, buddy pull thru's where two RV's open to face each other, pet day kennels and store. Williams has lots to do. Bearizona drive thru animal park and zoo, Deer petting zoo, zip line, lakes and the town itself is a very fun old route 66 small town. - Nutinelse2doExplorerJust get one of the " premier " spots at koa, and you will be fine. Went there every summer for many, many years with a big rig, and never had any problems.

I'm 64' from bumper to bumper...35' for the trailer plus about 2' for the ProPride hitch

I did...it wasn't terribly useful since the recommendations were J&H (still closed for the season) and the KOA which may or may be either super roomy for bigger trailers or way too tight for bigger trailers. Anyone have any other suggestions? - 4runnerguyExplorerDid you check out this thread from a couple of days ago?
