Hello. Looking for recommendations on campgrounds near the jim beam distillery in Ky. We are thinking of heading down there the first part of April for a week. The distillery is one place I want to visit. Would like to find a nice campground to stay at with hookups.

KOA in Shepherdsville, not far North of there is decent. For a KOA, that is. Another one in that town (Grammas?) Right off of 65 that I've seen good, and bad reviews of.

Kentucky Horse Park near Lexington, may be a bit of a drive.

I saw the koa. Grandmas campground had a few reviews that turned me off from it. I dont mind driving a little to the distillery, I do want to stay within an hour from there

Check out Bardstown and My Old Kentucky Home State Park. It has FHUs according to RV Park Reviews.com. We used to stay in Bardstown when going to the Kentucky Derby and visited the campground. It's nice and right next to a beautiful golf course. There are other distilleries in the area. BTW, Bardstown has the Bourbon Festival, but I believe it's in September. Nice little town.

Some people have mentioned "lil patch of Heaven" use to be Holts which had a lot of bad reviews. I haven't stayed there but drive past it often and the new owners have put a lot of work into it,it looks much bnicer now. It is a little closer to jim beam (11 miles)and I65( 13 miles).

Another vote for My Olg Kentucky Home SP campground. Grandmas is better located than the rest and there is a huge flea market just behind it on weekends. The KOA is a little remote. We have lots of friends that use Grandmas when they stop to see us. It's not a destination park but if you plan to eat out, visit Louisville, Mammoth cave area, tour the many distillers its the better location.

Not your fault- there was, but it was my uncle "Bubba" Beam's- shirttail relation of ol' Jim's. He ain't there no more sence he do have to move around quite a bit so's he kin stay one step ahead o' the revenoors. ;)

Hi Bob. I was just looking up more information on that campground. The jim beam distillery is in shepardsville and this campground is in frankfort.

Looks pretty nice. Paved sites are always nice, especially in the spring mud! I didn't see any prices on their site, I may have to look into that place

The OP asks for advice on where to stay.One person says the KOA and 5 say My Old Kentucky Home SP and the OP decides to stay at the KOA. Go figure!
