Campground search upper East TN southeast Virginia

Looking for a nice campground to spend a week in upper East Tn or Southeast Virginia for the last week of June. Plans include a ride down the Creeper Trail, a trip to Mt Rogers to see Wild Ponies. Other suggestions for activities are appreciated. Full hookups would be good but not absolutely necessary. A really good pool would be nice!

Thanks in advance for your assistance!
  • Why not stay at Grayson Highlands State park...where the wild ponies live?

No pool but its coll enough to not need one.

I'm thinking you mean southWEST VA. Grayson's a good suggestion. You can also search Woodalls.com by entering the town and state. Have a good one!

Search Erwin,TN area too. Beautiful there.
  • Thanks for the suggestions, leaning toward Hungry Mother, will check out Erwin also. And Magnus, you are right, should be southwest, should have looked at the map!:-)
  • I tent camped there in the summer with my parents when I was about 8 years old. My most vivid memory was how cold the water was.
  • Grayson has only 39 sites...and only 24 have e/w. I would suggest making reservations.

We have stayed at the KOA in Kingsport. Not a bad place. Typical KOA. Does have FHU like you asked.
