- dieharderExplorerWe loved the KOA in Medina, NY.
- pasusanExplorerHere is a little known CG that we have used while visiting Buffalo:
Ballard's Camping Center
5849 Southwestern Boulevard, Hamburg, NY
Local - 716-649-9654
Toll Free - 1-888-236-4365
ballardscampingcenter.com
It's an RV store with a small CG behind it... It is about 20 minutes to downtown. It is not a well known or fancy place, but the easiest into the city that we have found. The site we had had water, electric and a pipe in the ground for grey water - no black. They do have a dump station though, so wasn't a problem for us.
Don't tell anyone else about this place as it is our secret. ;)
Good luck! - gifco147ExplorerFour Mile Creek State Park is excellent. Inexpensive and right on Lake Ontario. The Branches of Niagara on Grand Island is also nice. It is a private campground, relative new and well maintained. Grand Island is in the middle of the Niagara River and is convienent to both Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
- We_Cant_WaitExplorerDon't know of ANY city of this size that have campground in the city. There are a lot of nice small quaint campground within about 30 miles of Buffalo. There is a nice state park up on Lake Ontario that people really like just east of Lewiston NY.
- twins89ExplorerSorry, Buffalo sorely lacks in a campground. Darien Lake State Park is nice but probably 30-40 min from Buffalo. You need to see where you will be going and find one that is as close as you can get. The motel/campground on Niagara Falls Blvd is really not that bad if you just need to park. It is clean and the highway is close to get you from point a to point b. check the reviews.
- jeeperdude10ExplorerYeah, that is what I was/am afraid of after looking on line. Just thought there may be/have been a "gem" that does not need to advertise. Guess we will take pot luck and check things out when we get there, and hope for a site.
- tohareExplorergood luck. To the best of my knowledge there are no campgrounds in Buffalo. So now you have to decide if you want to be south (Evangola state park,(water electric or maybe just electric), or north near Niagara falls, 2 private ones on grand island($$$, but fine) or 4 mile state park on lake Ontario( electric only). There is one private park in North Tonowanda that sits behind a motel. Have not been there but have seen reviews. Our daughter lives in Buffalo and we have not found a good place to stay for a reasonable price.
