Campgrounds near Olympia WA?

You would want the Olympia park and not the other,that is, unless they've changed it in the last couple of years. Yes,it is a bit dark and dreary,but the folks there are ok,kinda redneck, but still nice folks.
On edit; I'm not knocking rednecks by saying that as I can be kinda one myself at times and I'm a nice guy. Actually it's kinda fun being a redneck 'cuz you don't have to be PC.

We are a ways north of Seattle. I was trying to avoid the nightmare that is 405/I5 during commute times (which seems to last most of the day these days).

In researching Olympia campground I also found American Heritage campground. Are these two different campgrounds that are located next to each other?

They share the same email contact address and I sent them an email to see if American Heritage has electric sites available off season.

From the campground descriptions and looking at the pictures it sounds like Olympia campgrounds electric/hook up sites are row parking with the rigs right next to each other. However, the American Heritage campground sounds like there may be some electric sites in the wooded area.

At Millersylvania you are about 5 miles from either 99 or I-5 and last time we were there we didn't have any trouble with our Verizon. I didn't have my Bionic then so I don't know about the hotspot. We have also stayed at Olympia rv park, a former KOA and it's a just ok place. It is a bit handier to town though.
When you're there,cut over to Tumwater Blvd and checkout Eagan's burgers.Been eating those since I was in high school in the late 50's.
Potlach is so far away,that you'd be better off staying in Seattle.There is a park at the bottom of the Nisqually hill,but I wouldn't stay there and then a bit farther east is Lost Lake.It is surprising how few rv parks there are there.

Ah, that's something I didn't thin to ask about. We have Verizon and use the phone as a mobile hotspot along with a booster and external antenna. How far off I5 is the park, can you hear the freeway traffic when in the campground?

We did Olympia CG last year while visiting friends. In the trees. Sites abit close. WIFI OK. Phone worked fine.

I'd forgotten about that---I don't think I got cellular at all. Maybe with an antenna...

Given your parameters I would only recommend the State Parks, the private parks probably don't allow the privacy you would like. They are really cheek-by-cheek
Millersylvania would probably be my first choice, as I recall Potlatch is a little more cramped.
