campgrounds open after oct 31 ????

We are gonna be RV ing in the Asheville , Cherokee area last week of oct. thru the first week of Nov. It seems most campgrounds close
after oct 31. we are looking for places to camp nov 1 - nov 7 and
have found 2 or 3 but one does not allow campfires on your site.
Im doing the internet search but still need advice . thanks

  • Go to Allstays campgrounds. Click on the state you want then the map button then click on the open all year button. A map will show you where in the state the all year CG's are. Looks like there are several around Asheville. It's a very easy site to use and there are apps too. You can then research them on sites like RV park reviews

My one beef with rvparkreviews is that they don't list if the campground is open all year and so you have to search each site. I have made suggestions that they include that, but I was told it was a silly request. I love to camp in winter and don't think it's silly at all.
OP you just have to go in and check each campground individually but let me tell you its time consuming.

Not a big deal for me.

When looking for CG's on RVPR if I see a place that might interest me I go to their website for more current info including their dates of operation for Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

Have you checked rvparkreviews.com for parks in that area? Also try smartphone app RV Parky, or even just google "campground Asheville NC" and see what comes out that you haven't already explored. There's also a Facebook group called RV Park Reviews, that has quite a list of different campgrounds, as well as the ability to ask for feedback from the group. It is a closed group, so you'd need to ask to join. Pretty good information, my only complaint is that "admin" of that group seems to only allow about 10 comments to an asked question before she want to close the discussion.

  • We liked Happy Holiday Village at Cherokee. Get a back in site on the creek. We camped in site 97 and 98 and had a campfire. Not a fancy campground but we loved it. Be sure to take 441 into Cherokee and make a right on US19. Do not take Hwy 19 from the east.
