Newbienac,
The Florida State Park you referred to on Lake Seminole is Three Rivers State Park with a small CG just a couple miles north of Sneads, FL. We've stayed there a few times during the last 4 years alone on our way down and back from Florida while waiting for East Bank COE across the lake just north of Chattahoochee to have some open sites for a week or so stay. We like to stay at East Bank for a week or so before continuing south to our final place and I sure wouldn't call Thre Rivers CG great as it's extremely buggy and many of the sites are both very tight and jammed tightly together so you'd better have a very small rig or you'll not fit in or be able to shake into it.
Only a few sites were large enough for our 29' Carrilite 5th wheel and our CC truck. They did redo the bathhouse a couple years ago as it was in very poor condition and repaved the several mile long very deep potholed asphalt entrance road. The whole area is very poor economically as the huge State Hospital is about totally closed now and all that's left is the east and west state prison complex between Sneads and Chattahoochee.
The manager/managers were always very pleasant and 2 of them had said the CG is about last on the list for maintenance funds availability and only gets what's left after the touristy area state parks get their big loads.
Bacisally, the Three Rivers CG needs a lot of rebuilding done if it hasn't been done since 2013.
Last mid January, East Bank CG was almost a ghost CG as it was less than 25% filled the week we were there and the managers who we know personally said it's been very slow all winter. It's a gorgeous spaceous CG right on Lake Seminole with fine facilities, roads, and sites. Yes, they DO chain lock the entrance gate at night and there's no entry at all after 10 pm so you park outside the gate and prepare for a very long walk down a really steep paved long hill to your RV and then lay awake all night thinking about having the climb that monster steep hill in the norning to get your vehicle. Just don't be late!!! Never let it happen to us as my wife's disabled and I sure couldn't carry her that far...
