Camping near mount rushmore

Looking to see comments on campgrounds you have visited in the Mount Rushmore vicinity. Will have 32' 5th wheel and be looking for full hookups. I have been to the palmer gulch koa several years ago but was just quoted prices of approx $98 a night. So I am looking for alternatives.

    Beaver lake campground 5 miles west of Custer is a nice place.
    Great owners. I would stay there again.

    Thanks Knowlton I just called them based on your info. Nov 6th I can do reservations if I so wish. I mentioned those areas you specified and they much so agreed. Thanks for the info.

    This will be next year. And unfortunately it will be clipping the tail end of "bike week" it would be Aug 8-12.

    If you're planning on visiting in the next two weeks, the Sturgis motorcycle rally is going on...prices are greatly inflated and almost no spaces available....week of 24th August and beyond will be cheaper
