Campsites on the way: St paul MN to Yellowstone

Hello, I will be traveling from St Paul, MN, to Yellowstone. I want to take 94 west, and go through North Dakota, then come down, as to avoid the bighorn mountains. Any suggestions on where to ...

Perhaps the number of miles he will travel depends upon what CG suggestions he gets from here...?

I have not traveled that route. I was thinking of suggesting Bowman-Haley Lake CG in the SW corner of ND, but I see that it's 100 miles south of the expressway... too far out of the way.
