When customers misunderstand what they believe the price is for their stay at a campground, it is usually because of the convoluted terms.
Then ask if you think the terms are "convoluted". I've never been to a cg where the terms weren't clear when it came to extra charges. I have no problem with a structured fee assessment. Start with a base of two people then go from there. I only had one child. Majority of the time I paid for the base rate of 4. What I see on here is the reverse-many don't think they should HAVE to pay for extra services, guests, pets, etc. These are businesses, not charities.
If the CG leads you to believe the price is one thing, and then you find out after arrival that it is another, it is a little late to "ask".
I believe the idea is to know beforehand what your cost will be for the stay. At the end of a travel day, no one wants to discover that there are add on charges that weren't posted up front and center when they made the reservation.
That said, we camp at State and Federal Parks most of the time, and don't encounter much of the "gotchas".
