I am glad this did not turn into - although some attempts to start - to a KOA bashing. Not all KOA's do this kind of thing any more than independents who practice the same add'ons.
Worst place we ever stayed - Woodbury, MN park that used to be a KOA - had an owner who was out of this world nasty. And he added on for everything. We were going to have our son, wife and 2 small children out for just dinner and the add on was unreal. He said we pay it or get thrown out. We did not have them out for dinner!
