What are the rules for a Canadian buying a car in the RGV and leaving it there year round?

FWIW: Florida, lots of Canadians bought and tend to have Fla drivers license to get registered and insured from what we've been told and similar with AZ. Best to check direct with Texas Vehicle Licensing and also some insurance companies on what they need.
