It looks like the border will not open up this year. The US Congress has asked that negotiations to open it begin ASAP. But neither the majority of Canadians nor the politicians are wanting it open. In the USA it is getting worse and until something changes it could be a long time until it is under control. I wish it was different. We would love to take a 2 week trip to the USA. I was trucking long distance until 10 days ago. Visited many states. But I stopped due to worries about catching the virus. Here in Manitoba we are safe. There has only been about 325 cases. 7 deaths and no covid beds are occupied. But 4 truck drivers have been infected. 2 from visiting one of the "bad" states. And 2 who may have caught the virus from meat packing employees. The Government has opened up many stores and shops but lots of social distancing. Anyone that wants a test can drive up with almost no wait. I have tested negative twice! There are no shortages of protective gear for medical personnel. Gracias de Dios!
