Canadian Using Wind Phone

I have had a bill at $35:00 ± tax and I'm posting is with my BlackBerry z30.I did have the BlackBerry unlock phone that Wind put there sim card in.

Yes I have received two bills both being $60.00 plus tax. That includes full coverage in the states and Ontario. In the spring I will drop the US coverage and then it's $40.00 per month. They don't support Black Berry phones though. I believe they piggy back ATT towers.

I think you will find that the coverage sucks. Who is their carrier? Has anyone actually received a bill so they can see the actual cost? There is no free lunch. If they are roaming on ATT their costs would be very high. If it is Tmobile they have the worst coverage in the USA. Has anyone in the Southwest tried Wind?

Yes you only added it for when you need it according to there representative.
I need to get it turned on as we plan to leave on January 3.
I will know better after we try but we do have an unlocked Black Berry Z30 so can switch if we are not happy.

Just a caution about some of these smaller Canadian guys, I was shopping around to get away from the big guys and checked out one of the smaller players. I have an unlocked Galaxy Note 2 quad band phone (which I thought was good everywhere), it wouldn't work as the some of these smaller players run on different frequencies. The salesperson's recommendation was to sell my phone on E-bay and buy one of theirs (not!).

I did switch to City Phone out of BC, it turned out to be a Rogers company!!

I only need USA roaming for 4-5 months per year. Does WIND allow you to suspend or cancel for the other months? Couldn't find that in the FAQ.

I'm paying approx $1.50 per day. Unlimited everything in US and Canada.

We could just turn 9 provinces into states and cell coverage would be universal. You pick the state to give to the tenth province to form the new two province country(West France?)!
