Canyon Lake is a good campground right on the Lake. It is a COE.
If you stay there, get a 5 lb. sack of corn at the feed store that you will pass on the way in and late evening spread the corn on the ground in frount of your RV and then take a cooking pan and put some small rocks in it and SHAKE it laudly. In a few minutes there will be a HERD of deer come to the corn. It is AMAZING !!
