Carlsbad KOA

Just read on rvparkreviews that this park reeks of sewer smell. Can anyone confirm this and if true recommend another park near Carlsbad?
Would like sat and internet if possible.
Due to no internet at the park we are at won't get to check this till tomorrow.

thanks

  • We stayed there last month and have nothing but good to say about it. Friendly people, nice spaces, and no smell. Will stay there again on our way thru.
  • The nearest park worth staying in is an hour away and also gets the petroleum smell occasionally. Don't worry about it. It's possible almost anywhere out there.
  • We were there late June this year. No sewer smell. One day there was a slight odor I thought of as oil well or refinery odor. We passed what appeared to be a refinery some miles north of there. Only on the one day and not overly strong or objectionable. But may be what someone thought was sewer.
Really nothing else very good anywhere near.
  • Stayed there for a week 2/15/13. Not sewer but rather the burn off from oil wells in the area. More like a propane smell, we only had it one night not during the day. Nice park overwise but a bit far north, the next best choice is far inferior to this park. I would stay there again smell and all.
  • We stayed at the Carlsbad KOA and did not have any problems at all. No smell. The park was very nice, bath houses absolutely spotless. Big wide spaces. The people were extremely friendly. I would not be afraid to highly recommend this park.
  • We've stayed there and not had a problem; there is only one review that mentions it. Either it is a new problem or the reviewer is very sensitive.
