Carson City

We will be looking for an overnight near Carson City so would want an easy in and out pull thru at least 55 feet long. Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks - be safe.
  • Try 5 miles west of Reno from the 395 on I-80. There is a large RV park by the Cabela's. Large spaces, shuttle to the casino and Cabela's right out of the park. Been there twice, but the name escapes me right now.

Cabela's is located in Boom Town but I don't remember the name of the RV park. I think it turned into a KOA. They used to have a free shuttle to the casino. I stayed their a couple of times and was fine.
  • There is both a Terrible's and a KOA in Verdi; that might work if the prices, even there, are not thru the roof for the event of have tons of bikers in there.
  • Roads are good and bike traffic isnt a problem on highway except going to VC. If you can wait until its over then you can stay anywhere you want.
  • If at all possible need to come thru and stay the 26th. Otherwise will have to change reservations at some places we already booked due to high demand there. Maybe we would then be fine if we stay out at Verdi at KOA.

VC. Virginia City? Not going there.
  • Lauren, Terrible's in Verdi is, by far, the nicest place to stay in the area, but I'm not aware of the event you speak of, but I always try to avoid "Hot August Nights" (traffic, crowds, prices).
  • I stayed at Sparks Marina RV last year for 2 nights during Street Vibrations. Lots of motorcycles with well behaved owners. Very clean and well kept park. The pull throughs are about 60' long, but I fit with my 67' set up. We were able to make a reservation a few days before we got there, but I think we were lucky. I would recommend making a reservation wherever you choose to stay for that weekend.

this would be Gold Ranch RV park. We have stayed there a few times. We liked lt. I have not been there for about four years though.
  • Love this Forum!

Have made a reservation at Gold Ranch for the night.

    Thanks, everyone for your help.

    Be safe.
  • Gold Dust West hotel, casino and Rv park is right in Carson City. We stayed there a week. Nothing great but inexpensive and convenient at the time.

  • Gold Dust West is a good choice but a little tight for 55'. You can see them all in the area here: See em

Regarding road conditions that area is in really good shape right now. 395 from Carson to Reno has the new bridge so it is a much quicker drive. There is some road work on 395 between Bridgeport and Minden.
