Cattail Cove SP, Parker Arizona

The smallish CG funnels down the canyon right onto the Colorado River with a nice beach and boat ramp. They squeeze a lot of sites into a fairly small CG so you will be close to your neighbors. For $26 a night yo get 30 amps and water at the site with a two lane dump station near the entrance. It was amazingly quiet despite being nearly full with the mostly snowbird crowd. No kids were seen or heard but just about everyone had at least one dog, some folks had as many as five. :S

With the river temp coming in at a brisk 50 degrees water sports were limited to fishing but in the summer the river comes alive with every manner of craft imaginable. Think jet boats and ski's so peace and quiet may be scarce. Spectacular scenery and several gorgeous hiking trails originate from the CG.

  • Two points - Technically, since it is above Parker Dam, it is on Lake Havasu. It is one of the Arizona parks that allows extended stays over 2 weeks. I enjoyed two weeks there over New Years. Nice photos of the park.

Buckskin Mountain State Park is about 12 miles south on the river. Another nice Arizona park.
