Central CA campgrounds?

not sure what your definition of "kid friendly" is. it's a pretty typical California state park. it's flat and pretty open, except for the back loop.
the hookup spots are pretty close together, compared to the non hookup sites. though hookups are nice, for me, they're too close together for me and i prefer some of the other loops.

What I mean by kid friendly is the noise factor. I have stayed at some places that were more of a 55+ crowd that give pleanty of dirty looks for the laughter and noise young kids make. When we camp I dont want to have to tell the boys to keep it down when we are out to have fun during the day. After 10pm I understand that people are starting to go to sleep but during daylight is another story.

If you want hook-ups the sites are limited and are water and electric only, there is a dump station which will get busy on Sunday mornings as people leave. If I remember correctly there's something like 13 sites with hookups. They are in the first couple of rows next to the road. Not really that bad as the noise from the road is minimal. They are a little closer than some of the other sites. For me the space is adequate and I prefer having the hook-ups.

As far as kids go whenever I have been there kids were plentiful. Lots of them riding bicycles around. You will usually find lots of families camping there. From my experience this is pretty typical of California State Parks and as part of the 55+ crowd I don't find it bothersome. Well maybe on the rare occasion when the kids are behaving in a manner that is unacceptable in any environment, such as being destructive or disrepectful of others.
