CG outside Yellowstone

Wife has fianlly decided and so am planning a trip to Yellowstone this summer. Looked at a couple CGs one in Cody WY and one west of Cody. They have full hookups which is what we prefer. Would these work as a base camp and then drive to and thru the park for a few days to see the sites. Have a 33 ft TT and Ram Dually. This is what we did last year camped in Deadwood and drove to different areas of the blackhills for day trips.
  • I was looking at Green Creek Inn and RV park west of Wapiti looks to be 29 miles from entrance to Park.

It is doable, especially if you camp west of Cody which puts you closer to the park. We stayed at Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV which was about half way from Cody. It has full hookups and gravel spots and roads. But it also has a decent restaurant which was great after a long day sight seeing.
Grizzly, which Dick mentioned, is outside the west entrance if you want to travel thru the park to reach it.
  • We stayed at Grizzly; probably the most beautifully landscaped park we've ever stay at out side of Disney World.
