When we are in that area we always stay at the CLOUDLAND CANYON STATE PARK at the Trenton GA Exit on I59. This is located up on the LOOKOUT MTN SW of Chattanooga and we love the WEST RIM area of the park. Might be a tad too far for your stay however...

Looking at the google map for RV CAMPGROUNDS and see many choices in the near vicinity of Chattanooga.

Love the over-view of Chattanooga approaching from the East on I75 coming from the Smoky Mtns...

Lots of history for us connected with Chattanooga TN... Our early BRADDY settlers went thru here following the TN River enroute to Southern Illinois when all of this was part of the Early Virginia when its boundaries went from the East Coast all the way to the Miss River. There are BRADDY civil war graves from both the North and South in the National Cemetery there as well... One direct family BRADDY member died in Northern ALABAMA near Scottsboro guarding the Railroad lines back in the civil war.

  • I stayed in Marion County Park Campground it's about 15 miles west of the city and sits on a peninsula in the Tennessee River. It was recommended by some locals I'd met on the road. I'd recommend it and go back.

I might add that it might be too primitive for your needs and doesn't have sewer hookups. I believe it has a dump station.
  • For a full hookup campground in Chatt I'd suggest Best Holiday. It's very convenient as a base camp for exploring the area. For folks looking for a woodsy camping experience it won't fit the bill, but for clean restrooms, a pool, wifi and all that stuff, it should work nicely for you.
