Coming from east Jayco you mean bypass at 19 and 441? Coming from Raleigh and haven't been in years. Still no live dealers?

Thanks everyone. I'm checking them out. I'm surprised some are closed for the winter....

We prefer KOA because of the indoor pool for kiddo.
plus it has a trout pond on site for hubby.

don't go alot cause pricey and we prefer state parks etc. but when we do hit this KOA we always had a good time.

It was our favorite as well. Before they went all seasonal, and no longer offer sites for the week end. Very nice place.

They even taught me how to back the TT down a gravel road with out sliding the front (steering) tires. Can't turn with the front end sliding.

You need to get out more. Not all private CGs are like that. In fact the ones we go to are quite remote, and have spacious sites.

But then we rarely camp in the Smoky MTS. Too commercial. We go up on the BRP. Quite, peace full, cool in the summer. COLD in the winter. Away from the world, and we go over thru Saluda. You just go to nowhere.... and turn left. And you are there.

Agree. Happy Holidays is one of the best in the area, and no. you don't want to come over the hill from Maggie Valley to Cherokee. Go around. 9% grades across the mountain.

I also don't recommend US19 from the east. Use the bypass. Up the east side not too bad but the down on west side will really give the brakes a workout. Bypass is no problem.
