Has anyone been to this State Park?
I live in Quitman and of course can tell You all about Clarkco State Park.
It is located in Clarke County MS, hence the name Clarkco. Situated about 5 miles north of Quitman and about 20 miles south of Meridian one can find lots to do and see in this area.
Clarkco Park is an old CCC project so it has lots of history but, I must say proudly that it has been maintained nicely and updated during the years. As is most state parks it is dated, I suppose, by todays standards. But we love it. Huge pines and very shady gives it more of a closed feel. It is a beautiful park with a nice big lake.
If you want to get close to nature and just relax and really camp, this is the place.
Archusa (name derived from Choctaw Indian language) Water Park is located inside the City limits of Quitman, making it very unique.
It is a much newer and more modern park than Clarkco.
Come on down and spend some time with us at either of our parks. I just know you will enjoy yourselves. Ya'll come back here!!!
