From Alabama side there is a steep climb up to the park. You should not have any problems with the climb. The sites are well separated but not private. Trees near the camp sites are trimmed up high and there is little ground cover. Temps will be variable. When we visited the area was very quiet. Sites are crushed limestone and lined with railroad ties.
