COE campgrounds in central Texas

Would like to spend a week or 2 in February in central Texas. Anyone have any expert COE recommendations in that area? Interested in fishing but not an absolute necessity. Just want to escape the Nebraska cold for a while..................thanx

    I second Protor Lake, because it's got water in it. Alot of other Texas lakes are way down in the lake levels. The further west you go the emptier the lake are.

    Proctor Lake, near Dublin, TX
    Sowell Creek Campground
    Copperas Creek Campground.
    Both nice, but we like Sowell Creek best.
    Bass fishing and crappie and catfish.

    Also:
    Potters Creek Campground/ Canyon Lake.
