Padre Palms is close to the extended runway centerline and would have more aircraft noise.
We've also stayed at the NAS Corpus Christi on base military RV park and only noticed a little noise from the USCG helicopters.
The base is not a training base for jets. A few visit there, but it is mostly used by turbo props. The CBP P-3 fleet is based there. The Navy does the vast majority of their training at several specialized fields inland to the west. They are sensitive to the noise concerns in the Corpus Christi area.
The H-E-B Plus grocery store near the intersection of Waldron Road and the causeway is excellent. Be sure to visit the USS Lexington while in the city.
