Definitely recommend Cheyenne Mountain State Park--IF you can get a reservation. I think it is, by far, the best place to stay in Colorado Springs.
In addition to the recommendations already made for Colorado Springs: the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Garden of the Gods, and the Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak.
Suggest also that you take a look about a stopover at Santa Fe between Colorado Springs and Albuquerque. We always stay at Santa Fe Skies RV Park, which will be on the way to Albuquerque.
