Hello everyone,
We are planning a trip from Memphis to Colorado and back in July 2014.
I have listed our preliminary itinerary below. I am hoping you will chime in on best places to camp, things to do along the way, or suggested detours. NOTE: When in Colorado, I want to avoid driving to parks that include scary mountain roads with no shoulders/insane grades/etc. Ideally, we would camp at the foot of the mountains and make day trips in without the 31' travel trailer.

While many are saying you are ambitious I believe you are missing the Majority of the sites in Colorado. You need to get back into the mountains and follow the rivers.
Look at getting back to Leadville and Buena Vista, then over to Gunnison, Crested Butte and Ouray and Silverton.
By only getting to the foothills you are missing the real beauty and color of Colorado.
Add another week and get back into the mountains,
