Colorado and beyond- July 2014 trip

Hello everyone,

We are planning a trip from Memphis to Colorado and back in July 2014.
I have listed our preliminary itinerary below. I am hoping you will chime in on best places to camp, things to do along the way, or suggested detours. NOTE: When in Colorado, I want to avoid driving to parks that include scary mountain roads with no shoulders/insane grades/etc. Ideally, we would camp at the foot of the mountains and make day trips in without the 31' travel trailer.

  • That's a very ambitious schedule. I would recommend that you put in some relaxation days as well. When choosing a park I would pick some that allows you to indulge a favorite relaxation activity, eg fishing or swimming, easy hikes or mini golf, horseback riding or even just sitting near a campfire.

Your legs and back will thank you and your toddler will enjoy it more. After all, toddlers just want our attention and love: they're very easy to please
