We have been to all of those places. Our favorite is the KOA in Ouray. Not your normal KOA. It is a nice little campground in the woods at the base of a mountain. You can rent a Jeep right there in the campground and hit some of the off road trails. Ouray is a nice small town with some great places to eat. We have spent our last 8 vacations in Colorado. We usually compare them to Ouray and say we should have went to Ouray. Now we do, we just go to Ouray and enjoy the mountains and cool weather.
We totally agree. We have been to Colorado 4 times. We have traveled most of the state, however, we always end up in Ouray. This place is paradise. If at all possible, don't miss it.
