It makes me sad (: to think that some people in some states don't want tourism in their state. We are all citizens of one country...USA. We have traveled all over this country since 2007 in our RV plus years and years of car travel, air travel and cruises and only met friendly welcoming people no matter where we have visited.
In Massachusetts we are a big tourist destination which includes Boston, Salem, Plymouth ,Concord and Lexington, Cape Cod and the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, the Berkshires and many places in between full of American history. When we meet people in our travels and they say that they visited Boston and loved it and the area I feel proud.
I feel so lucky that I have had the opportunity to visit so many states in this country including Hawaii and Alaska. There is so much history going back to the original peoples who crossed the Bering land bridge and spread out through the Americas and developed in to the hundreds of native cultures and the history of the Puritans who settled Boston, the fight for freedom to be able to become our own country and the all the many immigrant groups who arrived over the the last 200 plus years groups who came and settled across the country.
And of course the so many spectacular
places i.e.: Grand Tetons, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Glacier NP, Rocky Mts, the Great Plains, Great Lakes, mountains and glaciers of Alaska, Hana Rd and the almost speechless beauty of the Hawaiian beaches and rain forests and lava fields and the wild Maine coast, NH White Mts., all along the eastern seaboard with beautiful beaches in Virginia, the Carolinas and Georgia, the Appalachian Mts and and of course my favorite ride...the Overseas Highway leading to the my favorite place.. The Florida Keys.
My life has been so enriched by our travels. As much as we have seen and experienced there are still so many more places to go and more interesting people to meet. Sorry I kind of got off topic:)
